Project Description
The Wodgina access road project involved construction and widening of the main access road to the client operations at Pilgangoora mine site, 1.5 hours east of Port Hedland.
The project scope of works encompassed bulk earthworks including:
- winning and conditioning of fill
- placement, compaction and formation of fill
- traffic management
- installation of signage
- installation of culverts
- construction of floodways
The key challenge for this project was inclement weather, which saw the project delayed by two major flooding incidents. However our team was integral in assisting the client with returning their workforce to work using our machinery, expertise and experience to ensure the access road was reopened in a timely manner as soon as weather permitted.
The project duration and specific completion date required fast and efficient project engineering and construction management throughout all stages. This allowed for the project to be completed on time to the client’s satisfaction.
