Scott Thompson is a highly proficient construction and operations manager who brings a wealth of experience and specialist expertise to the most demanding of projects.

He develops and manages best-practice civil, mining and earth moving services designed to deliver projects on time and within budget, with strict adherence to regulatory requirements.

Following his early career in civil contracting, Scott went on to work for leading miners including BHP Billiton and Atlas Iron. He played an integral role in ensuring their iconic Pilbara projects not only performed to the highest operational levels but delivered industry leading health, safety and environmental outcomes.

His track record in managing extremely challenging projects from inception through to closeout is complemented by his ability to build, motivate and engage teams to excel in all aspects of civil and mining construction works.

Scott’s meticulous and successful approach to mine development and supporting infrastructure is sought after by mining and contracting companies that demand leading edge practices and superior outcomes.

Hands-on experience working in some of the harshest and most remote locations in Australia combined with an impressive technical skillset and strong commercial acumen make him a stand-out operator.

Scott is a certified Unrestricted Quarry Manager who also has intimate knowledge of the legislative and regulatory processes which govern the mining and construction sectors.

His unrivalled skills in developing and implementing construction processes, procedures and governance and ability to manage large multi-disciplinary contracting teams makes him a significant asset on projects where the bar is set high.

Scott has taken a lead role on a diverse range of projects for companies including Fortescue Metals Group, Atlas Iron and BHP Billiton.

His unwavering focus on compliance, financial rigour and quality delivery has added significant value and strong legacies to every project he has undertaken.

Adept at planning, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, costing, contract negotiation and subcontractor supervision, he is able to quickly absorb and understand the specific needs of a client and their project, and design and implement tailored solutions.

Scott uses leading management techniques, state-of-the-art technology and intuitive people skills to enable projects to streamline processes and achieve greater efficiencies.

His inherent understanding of the needs of miners and contractors, combined with a comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Contracts Act and the Mine Safety Inspection Act ensure an approach which is both strategic and robust.
